<strong>Break and Enter</strong>

UWPS are investigating a break and enter at the Columbia Lake Plant-Ops greenhouse. Between the evening of Friday, Sept 19 and 6 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 22 an unknown suspect(s) broke into the greenhouse by forcing open a door. Once inside the place was ransacked and the windows were blacked out with spray paint. Several copper water pipes were cut out and removed. Other items taken: &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;
  • Wooden toolkit
  • Metal toolbox with assorted tools
  • Samsung flip phone
  • Two Motorola two-way radios

<strong>Suspicious person</strong>

UWPS is attempting to identify a suspicious male seen lurking around bike racks at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 18.

The male was observed by police riding a bike along the math roadway heading toward the SLC. The male avoided police and continued to ride towards the Tatham Centre. He was last seen riding across University Avenue onto Seagram Drive:

Suspect description:&nbsp;
  • Male, white, approximately early to mid-30’s, thin build, appeared tall, thin face, scruffy facial hair, possibly tattoos on his arms/ legs
  • Wearing: black flat brim baseball cap, black T-shirt, shorts, biking gloves, backpack
  • Riding a metallic purple mountain bike
  • Police ask that anyone with information as to the identity of this male or any other suspicious looking person contact UWPS.

  • Silver mens Norco Wolverine 21-speed, stolen Sept. 16 between 12:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. from DWE bike rack, chain lock cut, bolt cutters found at scene.
  • Grey and purple ladies hybrid Blade, stolen Sept. 17 between 1 a.m. and 9 a.m. from bike rack at north corner of Wellesley Court North, cable lock cut.
  • Orange mens CMM mountain bike, stolen between Sept. 13 and Sept. 16 from REV bike rack, front tire secured with lock, remainder of bike stolen.
  • White mens hybrid Rocky Mountain 21-speed, stolen Sept. 18 between 8:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. from PAS bike rack, cable lock cut.
  • Grey and black mens Giant mountain bike, stolen Sept. 18 between 9:50 a.m. and 2:10 p.m. from DC bike rack, cable lock cut.
  • Black mens Supercycle 21-speed mountain bike, stolen between 8:15 a.m. Sept. 19 and 8:14 p.m. Sept. 21 from DC bike rack, cable lock cut.
