About Us

Imprint – Your Stories. Your Voice.

Imprint is the official student magazine of the University of Waterloo and is a publication written by students for the campus community. It is an editorially independent magazine and news website published as part of the  Student Publications department under WUSA. Imprint has been publishing news since at UW since 1978.

Imprint is funded by a student fee paid for by undergraduate students at UW of $5.40 as well as advertisement sales. The fee covers the operations of Imprint including printing cost and staff. We currently offer 20 part time jobs for students to write, design and produce the magazine, online stories, and social media content. We also offer volunteer and paid contributor roles for students on campus. Our mission is to both produce engaging and informative content, holding UW administration and other campus groups accountable, while also providing an opportunity for students to learn and develop new skills.
