    The sentencing for Geovanny Villalba Aleman, who stabbed a professor and two students during a gender issues lecture at UW’s Hagey Hall in June 2023, was delayed to March 17. The decision was originally scheduled for today, Jan. 27.

    The Canadian government has announced several immigration policy changes relating to international students leading up to 2025, notably an increase in the cost-of-living requirements for applicants from $10,000 to $20,645 and a 10 per cent reduction from 485,000 permits in 2024 to 437,000 in 2025.
